Workshop day – Friday 14 June 2013

The Geneva Communicators Network is pleased to continue its series of workshops to help communicators in the Geneva region brush up on specific communications tasks, our next date for the workshops:

09h30-16h30, Friday 14 June 2013, Geneva
Cost: 450 CHF for GCN members, 580 CHF for non-members (includes a buffet lunch and tea/coffee)
Location: International University in Geneva ICC 20, Rte de Pré-Bois – 1215 Geneva 15, Switzerland

Three one-day workshops will be run simultaneously, with a networking lunch to allow participants to mingle briefly. Each session will include a combination of theory and practice to help communicators improve their specific skills. The groups will be small (maximum 15) to allow instructors to address each participants specific needs.

Workshop 1: Media relations for communicators
This is a practical and interactive course for communications professionals who want to hone their media relations, media writing and talking to the media skills. Given by a former BBC foreign correspondent, the course will give you a better understanding of how journalists think, how to generate media interest for your stories and how to give a great media interview.

Workshop 2: Surveys for communicators
Increasingly communicators need the ability to evaluate their activities and know what their audiences think and desire. Being able to design and set-up online surveys is a key tool for communicators for soliciting feedback and interacting with audiences. This is a practical workshop that will take participants from the design to the analysis stage with exercises using an online survey tool.

Workshop 3: Web writing for communicators
Writing for the web is different. People who visit and use your website or Intranet have different needs and expectations to those who read your messages through other channels. In this workshop you will discover how to write great content that meets these needs and keeps your visitors coming back.
