Thank you to all the communicators who attended our GCN lunch event on Friday 7 November: Beyond the Noise: Exploring what makes communication credible in turbulent times.

Thank you also to using Alice Richard of Co-CREATE ImpACT for her entertaining and insightful workshop using LEGO® Serious Play®.

The group worked together to explore what makes communication credible in a time of heightened complexity, information overload, and increasing public scepticism. Using the LEGO® Serious Play® methodology, participants collaborated to reflect on how trust is built and maintained, shared personal and professional experiences, and identified common challenges such as audience scepticism, the pace of information, and emotional fatigue. The session highlighted the importance of authenticity, clarity, empathy and alignment between words and actions, and underscored the role of communicators as sense-makers who help others navigate complexity. Participants also co-developed practical strategies to move forward with greater confidence, such as slowing down to listen, co-creating meaning with audiences, and reconnecting communication work to purpose and shared values. Main takeaways included the importance of emotional connection, consistency, and alignment between organisational actions and messages.

Below are some photos of the event.

We look forward to seeing you at a future GCN event.
