Looking for an experienced editor with health background

An international organisation in Geneva is looking for an experienced editor:

The International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is currently looking for an experienced editor. The person should have previous experience working with health related materials, in particular HIV/AIDS. The assignment requires the person to produce a communications pack to promote the organisation’s flagship publication known as the World Disasters Report (www.ifrc.org/wdr). We are looking for the following skills:

– excellent writing and editing skills
– ability to create media and public friendly documents
– ability to communicate complex health issues in an accessible manner
– ability to garner the key facts and figures
– Experienced with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
– Mother tongue English (knowledge of French as asset)

The project duration will be for around 35 days between March/April 2008. The fee per day will be approx 500 CHF. A short term contract will be given. The person should already have an appropriate work visa.
