Are you leaving money on the table because you’re not using LinkedIn to get new clients?

Ten years ago I followed a LinkedIN Challenge to understand how to get more from the platform.

I loved the challenge and after the ten days my profile views went from around 2 a month, to more than 20 a day!

Better still, in the month after the challenge, I attracted three new clients who over the course of the next 12 months brought me more than chf 50,000 in income (and they stayed clients for a lot longer than that too!).

So I’m delighted to announce that my friend Sarah Santacroce, an independent LinkedIn Specialist, will be running her annual LinkedIn Challenge again on 10th November, which will be bigger and better than ever – and until the 7th you can get a special Early Bird price!

You can save your place at the 2017 LinkedIn Challenge here!

The 2017 Challenge will be Bigger and Better than ever!
Over the last decade Sarah has helped more than 1800 professionals (and me!) get more from LinkedIn and this year, her 11th edition, will be bigger than better than ever!

What I love about this particular challenge is that besides all the valuable LinkedIn & Online Presence strategies you get, is that it’s a team effort.

Every year, Sarah gathers a world-wide group of leading LinkedIn experts to participate and share their best LinkedIn strategy. And this year, she’s expanded the field and included a Personal Branding, a Storytelling, a Livestreaming and a Online Image Expert.

Click the link below for the registration details & to save your spot NOW! Sarah offers an Early Bird Price until November 7th

2017 LinkedIn Challenge – Save your place here!

Did you know this about LinkedIn users?

  • They are NOT all job seekers! Most are fellow businesses looking to grow their business
  • They have a HIGHER average income than Facebook users
  • They are in work mode when browsing LinkedIn

This is why you should be using LinkedIn to get clients. Because they’re on there already. If you’re not active on LinkedIn, you’re handing a percentage of them over to someone else who is!

During the 10-day LinkedIN Challenge you will:

  • Learn why you absolutely need to use LinkedIn to get clients (how discover how!)
  • Find out that your LinkedIn Profile is boring – and how to improve it 😉
  • Grow your network significantly
  • Learn how to proactively identify, search for and connect with your ideal customers!
  • Learn how to be more visible on LinkedIn & get clients to contact you!

Plus much more!

I will definitely join Sarah’s challenge again this year. See you there!

Seminar: Protecting Journalists, Protecting Freedoms

Seminar: Protecting Journalists, Protecting Freedoms 31 Oct 2017 Webster University Geneva

Seminar: Protecting Journalists, Protecting Freedoms
Ending impunity for crimes committed against journalists

October 31, 2017,  18.30-19.30
followed by a networking apero

Organised by the Media, Communications and Photography Department, Webster University Geneva in collaboration with Reporters without Borders (Geneva) to commemorate the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Committed Against Journalists

The event will be opened by Alain Modoux, whose career reflects his long-standing commitment to the safety of journalists and the freedom of the press. Modoux has worked in favour of journalists’ safety for both the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where he created the ‘ICRC Hot Line to assist journalists on dangerous professional missions’ and for UNESCO, where he was Assistant Director-General in charge of the ‘Programme for Freedom of Expression, Democracy and Peace.’

Keynote speaker:

Gaetan Vannay, COO of Securaxis, RSF-CH member of the board,  reporter- has been working for Swiss and International media (Swiss Broadcasting Corporation, Radio Canada, Radio France, Al Jazeera, Le Temps etc.

War journalists have always confronted extreme risks in order to report from conflict zones. However, they increasingly find that they are also the direct targets of violence, kidnapping and murder. According to Reporters without Borders, this year 40 journalists, 4 citizen journalists and 8 media assistants have been killed so far; the true figures are likely higher as these only include cases in which it has been proven that journalists were killed or kidnapped because of their work.

Although legally protected when they enter conflict-zones under International Humanitarian Law, in these complex and dangerous settings, it is impossible to bring those responsible for these crimes to justice.

The impunity surrounding crimes against journalists, as well as being a fundamental issue of human rights, has profound implications for the freedom of expression and the freedom of the press. This is why, following the tragic assassination of two French journalists in Mali on 2 November 2013, the international community united to raise awareness of the need for journalists to be protected by creating the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Committed Against Journalists.

This is a free event. Registration is required.

For full details & to register, please visit the event page on Webster University website.

Stand out from the competition: Brand positioning hands-on workshop (21 Oct, Lausanne)

Ekaterina Filippova (eKat Communication) - digital communication speaker & trainer

1/2 Day Workshop for Entrepreneurs & Small Business Owners
10:00 – Saturday, 21 October 2017 (Lausanne)

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This workshop will be particularly useful for early-stage entrepreneurs (micro businesses, one man shows, people just getting started) in the service industries but even established entrepreneurs will get value from gaining more clarity on what is working or not in their existing positioning, so that they can do better than their competitors.

EVER FEEL LIKE THIS ABOUT THE COMPETITION?

  • Do you sometimes feel like there is so much competition out there it’s like a ‘battlefield’?
  • Do you have trouble explaining to potential clients why they should pick you?
  • Have people ever told you they don’t quite understand what it is that you do?

Don’t feel bad – you are not alone! Many entrepreneurs, especially those just starting out, cannot clearly explain the value of what they do and instead compete on price, not getting paid enough for their services as a result. Are you one of them?

CLIENTS CHOOSING TO WORK WITH YOU

A client choosing you over someone else to do business with, that’s what we all want. It’s a great feeling, isn’t it? And the road to getting to shake hands sealing the deal with more clients lies in having a clear brand positioning.

Brand positioning helps you get clarity on who you are, who your target market is and how you can help solve their problems better than your competitors.

  • Would you like to have a brand that allows you to stand out from the competition?
  • A brand that does half of your selling for you even before you start talking to a perspective client?
  • A brand that helps you command the money you deserve for your services and not compete on price?

DURING THE WORKSHOP, YOU WILL GET CLARITY ON:

  • Who you are as a business (your values, your “why”, your expertise)
  • Who your audience is & what they need
  • What your offer is
  • How to position yourself against competition

YOU WILL WALK AWAY WITH:

  • Confidence and clear understanding of how to present yourself as a professional that you are
  • Completed brand positioning document for your specific business to refer to for your future activities
  • A plan of what else you need to do (next steps) to help you further position yourself as an expert

DATE & TIME:
Saturday, 21 October 2017, 10:00-14:00

LOCATION: Lausanne

MORE INFO & TO REGISTER: Please visit the event page and sign up.
